THAI AIRWAYS UNVEILS NEW SUSTAINABLE UNIFORM FOR CREW

Under the concept “From Purple to Purpose”, THAI’s iconic Thai Ruean Ton uniform, symbolising grace for over six decades, now boasts a sustainable twist with a blend of recycled materials and Thai silk.
Not only does the new uniform enhance aesthetics, but it also ensures practicality, easy maintenance, and adherence to safety standards.
THAI expects to complete the uniform rollout by having its female cabin crew, totalling about 2,100 persons, wear the new uniform by the end of 2024.
Currently THAI operates 120 flights daily on average, with 600 to 700 female cabin crew working on board every day.

VIETNAM'S BAMBOO AIRWAYS SUSPENDS ALL LONG-HAUL INTERNATIONAL ROUTES

Bamboo Airways is suspending service on 10 international routes under plans announced last week amid financial concerns at the airline
The company started by suspending flights between Hanoi and London on Oct. 18. Other affected routes include connections between Hanoi and Tokyo; between Hanoi and Incheon, and between Ho Chi Minh City and Frankfurt.
Full refunds or flight changes are being offered for tickets already sold.

NIGERIA VS EMIRATES, A POLITICAL MOVE?

After five days since Emirates (Dubai) resumes flights to Lagos and Abuja, the carrier has been forced to cut back it's flights from 21 weekly flights to just 1.
The move is a response to UAE authorities not permitting Nigerian carrier Air Peace to fly to Sharjah thrice-weekly.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) ordered that the airline will only be permitted to fly a one day a week service to Abuja, on a Thursday.
Emirates however did not take kind to this political move and retaliated by suspending all it's flights to Nigeria indefinitely. Let's wait and see how long this feud will last?

AER LINGUS CELEBRATES NEW ROUTE, MANCHESTER TO ORLANDO.

December 11th 2021, Aer Lingus flight EI 35 had completed it's inaugural flight from Manchester International airport, UK to Orlando in Florida. The flight which was operated by an Airbus A330, departed Manchester 11:19 GMT and arrived at Orlando International Airport at 15:50 EST. The flight time reported was 8.5 hours. The return flight, EI34 has a scheduled departure time of 19:00 EST and arrival time in Manchester of 08:35 GMT.
The aircraft features two classes of service, with 23 lie-flat seats in business class and 248 seats in economy class.
The Manchester to Orlando route is the third direct flight to the Caribbean and United States launched by the Dublin Airport (DUB)-based airline following flights to Barbados on October 20 and New York on December 1st.

NEW US TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS FOR ARRIVING TRAVELLERS

With fears of the new variant of Covid-19 Omicron, the US has updated it's rules for all travellers arriving into the country. Effective immediately, all travellers will require a negative PCR result within 24 hours of arrival into the US. This applies to everyone who are fully vaccinated.
Unvaccinated Americans and legal permanent residents are allowed to enter the country with a test taken within one day of departing for the United States. The new rule makes the testing time frame one day for everyone.
Biden has also extended the mandatory rules for wearing masks on planes, airports and whilst on public transport till the end of March 2022.

ITA AIRWAYS ORDERS 28 AIRBUS AIRCRAFTS

Italy's new national airline ITA Airways which has replaced Alitalia has made a firm order for 28 new Airbus aircrafts.
The order includes seven compact A220 jets, eleven of the company's blockbuster model A320neo, and ten A330neo widebody airliners. The airline also has plans to lease the Airbus A350 XWB.
ITA took over the then national carrier Alitalia since October 2021.

SCOOT LAUNCHES NO FRILLS LOWCOST BETWEEN ASIA AND UK

Scoot, which is a low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA) has launched it's low-cost longhaul route between Thailand's Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and London's Gatwick airport.
The new flights will commence it's inaugural flight on December 16th 2021, with three weekly flights scheduled until March 2022. All services will be operated by Scoot’s widebody Boeing 787 Dreamliners offering both Economy and ScootPlus cabins, with features such as in-flight Wi-Fi and the ability to upgrade to Scoot Plus or to Scoot-in-Silence – Scoot’s offering of a quiet-zone. The launch of these flights coincides with the busy Christmas holidays for travellers looking to jet off to warmer climates and escape the European winter.

THAILAND WELCOMES TOURISTS FROM 64 COUNTRIES

At Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport, Thailand's main gateway, airport staff and health and immigration officials ran a simulation of the arrival of a plane full of visitors, to test out electronic screening measures.
"All the passengers will get their QR code checked by the Department of Disease Control," said Kittipong Kittikachorn, the airport's general manager.
"It will include all the details about insurance, vaccine certificate, or hotel booking."
From Nov. 1, vaccinated visitors from eligible countries, including Britain, the United States, Germany, France, Australia, China, Japan and Singapore, will be allowed to skip quarantine, providing they have negative COVID-19 tests.
